The NRA Basic Pistol Course is the best way for you to learn the basics of pistol shooting and is your next step of training after receiving your Concealed Carry license. Whether your goal is personal protection, sport shooting or hobby shooting, this course will give you the solid foundation you need to move forward with confidence.This course is 8 hours of training with 6 hours of classroom and 2 hours of supervised range time. TOPICS INCLUDE:
- Rules for safe gun handling, pistol parts and operation and ammunition
- Shooting fundamentals, bench and two-handed standing positions
- Both home and range based training drills for improving shooting

6:00-7:30 pm This is course intended for individuals who have never fired a handgun but are interested in learning. The event will be taught by experienced and certified instructors. This is NOT a complete firearms training class. Do not bring your firearm, guns are provided. This is not a class to go over your gun but an introduction to shooting and safety. Class is available to students 12 and older. Age 12-18 must be accompanied by parent or guardian. Classroom portion includes:
- Firearm Safety
- Shooting Range Rules and Etiquette
- Basic Operation of a Semi-Automatic Handgun
- Marksmanship Fundamentals:
- Proper Grip
- Stance
- Sight Alignment and Sight Picture
- Trigger Control and Follow Through
- Master Eye Exercise
- Hands on Action and Operation of a Handgun
- Dry-Firing
- Live-Firing

- Concealed Carry Law / Where you can and cannot carry
