Our Education Center at The Range offers a variety of entry-level, intermediate and advanced classes & training. We also have women’s only classes and private handgun, AR & rifle/shotgun instruction. Classes are conducted in our classroom just off the lobby area of our state-of-the-art range. We strongly encourage all new gun owners to take advantage of the great educational opportunities we offer, and those with more experience to keep their skills sharp by taking our affordable Skill Builder Clinics!
Class Enrollment
Register online to reserve your seat. You must reserve at least 48 hours in advance of the class you want to enroll in. Sign up early to ensure a spot! We will accommodate walk-ins if openings are available on the first day of class.
Course Cancellation Policy
Your class enrollment fee is non-refundable. It may be used for a future class if you are unable to attend and contact us within 48 hours of the class date – we understand unexpected events/hardships happen. If you do not show up for your class and do not contact us, you forfeit the cost of your class. We reserve the right to cancel classes in the event the number of students does not meet class minimums. Students of canceled classes will be notified and be given preference in next class offered of that type.

First Shots Class at The Range of Richfield
Wednesday, March 26th 6:00 to 7:30 pm
Wednesday, May 7th 6:00 to 7:30 pm
Wednesday, June 18th 6:00 to 7:30 pm
This is course intended for individuals who have never fired a handgun but are interested in learning. The event will be taught by experienced and certified instructors. This is NOT a complete firearms training class. Class is available to students 12 and older. Age 12-18 must be accompanied by parent or guardian*.

Stop the Bleed
Saturday, March 29th 10:00 am – Noon
This class provides lifesaving training in easy-to-understand steps that anyone can do. We will discuss and train you in recognizing potential deadly bleeding and provide options on how to slow it or even stop it until a higher level of care can arrive.

Proper Use of Pepper Spray
Saturday, April 5th 1:00 to 3:30 pm
Learn how to carry and properly use O.C. (Pepper) Spray for self-defense. Completion of this class will give you, your spouse, your daughter or son, grandma…. whomever, the confidence and skills needed to handle a threatening encounter. As a bonus, students will get a discount on in-store SABRE Spray products.

NRA Basic Pistol Course
Saturday & Sunday, May 3rd & 4th
8:00 – Noon each day (2-day class)
The NRA Basic Pistol Course is the best way for you to learn the basics of pistol shooting and is your next step of training after receiving your Concealed Carry license. Whether your goal is personal protection, sport shooting or hobby shooting, this course will give you the solid foundation you need to move forward with confidence.

Immediate Treatment of Gunshot Wounds
Saturday, May 17th 10:00 am to 5:00 pm
This class will introduce the layman to the basic aid that needs to be rendered to a gunshot victim in the home, hunting cabin, street, hunting or on the shooting range. We will also present a detailed plan for rendering aid to victims in hazardous or high threat situations.

Getting to Know Your AR-15
Saturday & Sunday, June 7th & 8th
8:00 am – Noon both days (2-day class)
Goals of This Course: This course seeks to convey a comprehensive foundation of knowledge about the AR-15 rifle such that the owner gains complete confidence in their ability to safely operate and maintain this firearm. To gain this level of comfort the student will learn in a classroom setting a brief history of its development, its design and operating principles, ammunition design and types, basic ballistics and calibers, maintenance, and optics and accessories.

Beginner, Intermediate & Advanced
Private Lessons for Individuals, Couples or Groups
Lessons are individually tailored to your specific needs and goals. Example lessons include new shooter introduction and familiarization, intermediate shooters learn trigger control, target reading and self-correction, advanced receive specific coaching on development areas including homework for skill building.

M1 Garand Maintenance and Shooting Class

Delve into US History and learn all about the rifle that won WW2. In this class we will go over field stripping, maintenance, and shooting the M1 Garand.

Active Shooter Preparedness Training

The threat of an active shooter event is rare but very real. Our goal is to have our students replace fear and hopelessness with preparation and readiness in the face of violence.

Introduction to Bullseye

Learn to shoot pistol bullseye!! Bullseye pistol shooting is done one handed and shot at 25 yards (75 feet). You shoot 3 targets, first is 10 shots slow fire, then 2 5 round strings of timed fire (5 shots in 20 seconds), ending with 2 5 round strings of rapid fire (5 shots in 10 seconds). Max points you can shoot is 300. Bullseye pistol is friendly competition for all levels of shooter skill. It is the apex of accuracy and precision that will enhance your skills as it is all about the fundamentals.

Drawing Firearm from Concealment (BASIC)

So, you’ve decided to carry concealed now that you have your CCW Permit. Now what?
This Defensive Shooting class will discuss the various concealed carry options (waist, ankle, shoulder, bag) and the pros and cons of each. Each student will be put through practical, real-life exercises to see if their chosen way to carry is actually best for them.

Home Defense Fundamentals

The Defense of your Home starts long before a violent incident occurs there. Preventing an incident from occurring is always the best, but should an incident occur you and your family need to have a predetermined plan in place.

Drawing Firearm from Concealment (ADVANCED)

6:00 – 8:00 pm
This Defensive Shooting Class is designed to build upon the skills learned in the basic class with the addition of a live fire component.
Students will experience multiple repetitions in real life situations and work on recognizing a threat, accessing their firearm, accurate shot placement and appropriate follow through considerations.

NRA Instructor Course – Pistol
Saturday & Sunday, Check back for future dates
8:00 am – 5:00 pm both days (1 hour lunch break)
This 16-hour (2-Day) course teaches the knowledge, skills and attitude essential to organizing, promoting and teaching NRA’s Basic Pistol Shooting Course. This course is presented in two parts: Basic Instructor Training, and Pistol Specific Instructor Training. Students demonstrate organizational and teaching skills via participation in practical exercises during the course, and complete an instructor certification exam.

Shooting On the Move & Shooting from Cover

This Defensive Shooting Class is designed to build upon skills already learned by the student in prerequisite classes. This class adds movement and the use of cover as an advanced tactic.
Students will also learn to focus on proper shooting form while moving, and to maximize the use of cover in a shooting situation.

NRA Range Safety Officer (RSO)

8:00 – 5:00 pm
This course is nine hours long in the classroom at The Range of Richfield. Range Safety Officer candidates will learn roles and responsibilities of an RSO; Range Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs); range inspection; range rules; range briefings; emergency procedures; and firearm stoppages and malfunctions.

Low Light Shooting / Use of Flashlight

This Defensive Shooting Class is designed to give the student an opportunity to perform live fire exercises using either a weapon mounted light or a handheld flashlight in low light or dark environments.
The classroom portion of this class will discuss various lighting options and the pros and cons of each as well as proper form and technique.
