NEW PREMIER SHOOTING RANGE TO OPEN IN RICHFIELD ON HELSAN DRIVE
[dropcap]C[/dropcap]onstruction has started at a new premier indoor shooting range at 3026 Helsan Drive in Richfield, Wisconsin. The Range of Richfield, LLC is located where Highway 41 and Highway 45 split, a few blocks north of the new Cabala’s on Helsan Drive, and is projected to open in October of this year.
The shooting range is the business venture of commercial real estate professional Jim Babiasz and his family, who saw a need for a high quality indoor range in an area that is already highlighted by the Cabela’s Richfield store, near the site, and Gander Mountain’s Gun World store a few miles south off of Mequon Road.

“When I talked to family, friends, and other shooting sportsman, it was clear that there was a gap that could be filled with an indoor shooting range that would put a focus on an excellent shooting experience, and making sure that it is done in a safe and welcoming environment”, Babiasz said. “Being so close to places a lot of shooting hobbyists go out of their way to visit was a big key in designing our business model for this range, and it was impossible to miss the real positive nexus for a range at this site”.
The Range of Richfield LLC’s Mission Statement from their website TheRangeWI.com says the indoor range exists “To provide a state of the art, safe, secure, environmentally friendly shooting facility to educate, enhance and expand the shooter’s experience”. The shooting range will be a building within a building, constructed of concrete masonry units (grouted solid) with shooting lane equipment provided by a nationwide leader in shooting range design and build out. The structure will be sound resistant, secure, well-lit, and ventilated to meet OSHA, ASHRE, and EPA regulations. The Range will be supervised by employees that have earned the National Rifle Association (NRA) safety officer certification and all individuals using the range will be required to provide valid I.D. and sign a liability waiver before using the range.
The facility will be open to the public and offer special discounts to local law enforcement agencies, military personnel, and scouting groups. The safe and friendly atmosphere is designed to cater to the female and family shooter. Classes in gun safety, operation, conceal carry, and hunter’s safety will be offered throughout the year.
Retail area will include guns, ammunition, shooting supplies and other items related to the shooting and hunting industry. A waiting/viewing area (with ballistic glass) will be provided adjacent to the shooting lanes.
In addition to The Range of Richfield LLC; Just Camo USA, Inc., another one of the Babiasz family’s companies, will occupy approximately 2,500 SF of warehouse/office shipping space in the building on Helsan Drive. JustCamo.com is an on-line retailer that offers a variety of camouflage products, gifts, and house hold items. The Range of Richfield is a family run business dedicated to providing the ultimate shooting experience. The new range has set a projected opening date for early fall 2014.
