Press Release from Operation Finally Home – Wisconsin

On Friday August 11th retired Army Specialist Jesse Frewerd finally found home. Jesse, his wife Katie, and son Dean were escorted to their brand-new mortgage free home and greeted by the Menomonee Falls community.

Jesse served as an Army Specialist for nearly four years before medically retiring after being injured from and IED blast. Jesse suffered a perforated ear drum, traumatic brain injuries, and PTSD as a result of his service.

The team at Belman Homes and Operation Finally Home built and provided the home to the Frewerd family. “I am extremely grateful to the over 70 companies came together to provide materials, labor, and funds to build this home.” Said Belman Homes President David Belman.

After escorting the family to the home which the Frewerd family had not seen in nearly 5 months they were greeted by hundreds of members of the community. After a dedication ceremony featuring US Senator Ron Johnson, Waukesha County Executive Paul Farrow, Wisconsin 22nd Assembly district Janel Brandtjen, and Village of Menomonee Falls President Jeremy Walz the family cut the ribbon on their new home.

Jesse and Katie walked in and saw their brand new home for the first time. “It’s just walking in and all the natural light, and it feels like walking into heaven.” Said Katie as she wiped away tears of joy.

Jesse now works at the Milwaukee VA helping fellow veterans and was chosen for his exemplary service and his work in the community. This is the 7th home built and provided to a veteran by Operation Finally Home here in Wisconsin.
