This 16-hour (2-Day) course teaches the knowledge, skills and attitude essential to organizing, promoting and teaching NRA’s Basic Pistol Shooting Course. This course is presented in two parts: Basic Instructor Training, and Pistol Specific Instructor Training. Students demonstrate organizational and teaching skills via participation in practical exercises during the course, and complete an instructor certification exam. This course is 8 hours of training with 6 hours of classroom and 2 hours of supervised range time.

TOPICS INCLUDE:

Rules for safe gun handling, pistol parts and operation and ammunition
Shooting fundamentals, bench and two-handed standing positions
Both home and range based training drills for improving shooting
Cleaning of pistols
Suggestions for skill development
Jeff has served many years on the Board of Directors for the Daniel Boone Conservation League and is an NRA Certified Instructor in Pistol, Rifle, Shotgun, Reloading, and Home Firearm Safety. Jeff is also an NRA Training Counselor, which enables him to train NRA Instructors in all the noted disciplines. In addition, Jeff is an NRA Certified Chief Range Safety Officer, a Wisconsin DNR Hunter Education Instructor, and a USCCA CCW Instructor. His classes are known for being entertaining, informative, easy to follow, and youth & female friendly.
