Massad Ayoob’s newest and most comprehensive training, education and support services for private citizens, law enforcement and criminal justice professionals. For the nearly four decades, Massad Ayoob has provided training for police, the military and private citizens in the use of firearms and other self-defense tools to effectively defend themselves and others against criminal attack. Massad Ayoob has extensive experience with assisting attorneys in preparing for both civil and criminal trial proceedings, as well as providing expert courtroom testimony for cases involving the judicious use of deadly force. Massad Ayoob shares all of that knowledge and experience, plus his own unique insights into the necessary preparations for personal protection, during the courses presented by the Massad Ayoob Group. We have courses for everyone, for those new to the concepts of personal self-defense, for the professionals who investigate self-defense shootings, and for the continuing legal education of criminal justice professionals. The Massad Ayoob Group is established to serve those who wish to understand the important principles of personal protection and the complex legal issues related to the use of deadly force in self-defense.
The Armed Citizens’ Rules for Engagement Course is a 20 plus hour immersion course in rules of engagement for armed law-abiding private citizens, emphasizing legal issues, tactical issues, and aftermath management. Topics will include interacting with suspects, witnesses, responding police officers…threat recognition and mind- set…management of social and psychological aftermath after having had to use lethal force in defense of self or others…and preparing beforehand for legal repercussions and minimizing exposure to them. Situations in the home, at the place of business, or “on the street” will all be covered. There is not a prerequisite for this course.
Proof of Good Character is required which is *ONE OF THE FOLLOWING*
- Current State Issued Permit/License to carry a concealed handgun
- Current Federal Firearms License
- Current FOID Card (Illinois Residents Only)
- Current Police or Military Identification
- Other current proof of clean criminal record. Most Sheriff’s Offices will run these for you at a nominal fee, done routinely in many occupations.
